Choosing a romantic gift for someone special during anniversaries can sometimes be a daunting task. Let’s face it, you don’t want to come off as too cheesy, too simple, too vulgar, too expensive, or too ordinary. Now certainly a gift could be considered any one those things depending on the person you are giving it to. We’ve all heard the phrase “it’s the thought that counts” but it it certainly couldn’t hurt if you take the time to make it as special as can be.
One of the most things you can do here is to take into account who you are getting the gift for. Meaning, what is the other person into? What are their interests etc.. Half of the job is done if you give something that would interest your partner. Ladies, if you are buying a gift for a man think “usability. Is it something that he can use to solve a problem, finish a job, or use to relax. Men, if you buying a gift for a woman think emotionally. Women like it when you recognize who they are and what interests them. In my opinion, a woman would much prefer a nice photo of the two of you arranged in an elegant frame etc..(disclaimer here: all women are different)
Since this article is supposed to be about romantic gift ideas during anniversary celebrations here are some romantic gift ideas.
1. A night out in a different town complete with limousine service. Get a nice room for one or two nights at an elegant hotel. Preferably one with a nice spa. Then arrange for a limousine to pick you up on one of the nights for dinner out on the town. Of course, if the hotel has a five star restaurant then feel free to dine in.
2. A his and hers pampering packing at a day spa (guys: many women would absolutely love you taking time to do this type of thing with them). This could include things like a hot stone massage, manicures, pedicures, facials, and hopefully a hot tub. Basically a worry free day spent together. pampering package is another unforgettable gift and an amazing romantic date idea.
3. A horse drawn carriage, limousine, or private hay ride. Again, the main theme here is that you are doing the activity together. Add a nice bottle of wine or some hot cocoa depending on the weather and viola! Being together during this time is what makes the romantic gift idea special.
There are so many romantic gift ideas gifts you could come up with. Your only limit is your imagination.

If the seeker is successful in finding his or her partner the reward will be a kiss. However, if the seeker can find his or her partner within less that a minute the reward will be greater.
Board Game. Turn any ordinary board game at home into a something special by putting additional rules. Let’s say you have a Monopoly board at home, you can have the loser to do a strip dance or to take off a piece of clothing for every round he or she lose.
Sexy Bowl Game. You can use two fish bowls for this game. You can list down several body part on a piece of paper and put it in one of the fish bowls while the other one will be filled with action words. Couple should alternately draw from one bowl to another and exchange turns on who will do the action.
The Genie Game. On a particular day of the week either of the couple could pretend to be a genie and grant his or her partner’s wish. They should be very creative in make a wish because it is just a once a week or once a month sky-is-the- limit privilege. The genie role should be done alternately.
Sweet Strangers Game. The exciting part about this game is the distance you set between each other. With this game you have to designate a particular place such as bar or a park to meet after work. As you part your ways in the morning to go to work you have to avoid any communication with your partner. After work you have to meet each other on the agreed location and pretend that it’s your first time to meet. Who knows the day could end up with a “one-night stand.
Romantic game keeps the relationship fun. You can create your own game or check online for some suggestions. Don’t consider it as a silly thing to do. Keeping the spark in the relationship will take more than just flowers and chocolates.
Your woman is the most beautiful, intelligent, compassionate, wonderful woman on the planet…so how do you tell her without using words? Romantic gift giving is a sure fire way to give the woman of your heart something she will cherish forever.
So what do you get her? What should you steer clear of?
Never fear, here are a few dos and don’ts of romantic gift buying for women.
Dos
Do buy her something she can use practically. Is she a homemaker? Does she love to cook? Would she enjoy a new set of cookware or new China porcelain set? Does she have a craft she lives for? Could you buy her scrap-booking supplies, a year’s worth of yarn, a new sewing machine with embroidery attachments? These are questions you can answer by simply watching to see what she enjoys doing.
If your woman thrives on the hustle and bustle of the career life, do get her a gift she can take with her to work. Is she a coffee drinker? Buy her a stylish mug with a personalized message or photo of you on it. Does she have children? If so, pick out her favorite photos of the kids, have them framed and give them to her to remind her of the people at home who love and appreciate her.
Does your woman like the great outdoors? If this is the case, get her a weekend away from it all by taking her camping. Reserving a spot at a nearby state park is cheap and easy. Spending time in nature cuddled up next to the man she loves just might be the inspiration she needs to show her gratitude.
Romantic gifts for women aren’t about buying the most expensive thing on the market. Most women appreciate the gifts that are truly from the heart- considerate and thought-out.
Don’ts
Alright men, here is a simple list of things that are off limits in the realm of romantic gift giving.
Unless your wife and mother are identical twins, don’t buy her something your mother would like. Your woman and your mom are two different women with two different tastes. Buying your wife that perfume gift set your mom drooled over isn’t going to win you any points.
If you’re woman is a homemaker you don’t need to get her cleaning supplies or a subscription to Home & Garden magazine. Some women appreciate getting things that will help them out around the house, but they are usually pretty good about getting those things themselves. Gifting your woman with aprons or vacuum cleaners is a good way to go from spotless house to dog house with ‘Spot’.
Okay guys, this don’t is the mother or all romantic gift don’ts for women…don’t get your woman something you really wanted for yourself. Just because she nodded her head as you gushed on and on about a particular grill, doesn’t mean she would appreciate receiving it as an anniversary gift. Same goes for tools, vehicles, tickets to sporting events and pets.
If you follow these simple dos and don’ts you should be able to find something your woman would appreciate- let the outpouring of love begin!
As far as romance ideas go, dining in can be as romantic as the candlelit booth in the back of your favorite restaurant. Taking the time to plan and prepare a meal for someone you love is the perfect way to express your feelings. But romance ideas don’t stop with dinner. It’s all about creating the mood. Start by doing some exploration. Find out your partner’s favorites from appetizer to dessert, and plan a perfect menu for a perfect evening. Spending an afternoon shopping for the best ingredients only adds to the anticipation of the lovely evening to come.
I’ll start you off with a menu that everyone will love, and give you suggestions for creating the perfect atmosphere.
Cesar Salad, Penne a la Vodka, Italian bread and Cannoli for dessert. Perfecto. You will find everything you need for the meal at your local grocery store. See below for the recipe.
Once you’ve decided on the food, choose the theme. For this meal, you’ll turn your table into an Italian Bistro. Cover your table with a red and white checked tablecloth. You can find one at any kitchen store, or in the house wares department at Target or Macy’s. Be sure you know what size you need before you shop.
Set the table with a dinner plate, a salad plate. Place the dinner plate down first, and on top of that add a smaller salad plate. Your forks go to the left of the plates, forks can be the same size, but if not place the smaller fork on the outside and the larger fork nearer the plate. Just to the right of the plate, place a knife blade side facing the plate and to the right of the knife a spoon. Above the forks, place a bread plate, and above the knife and spoon a water and wine glass. Fold a white cloth napkin in half 3 times, so that it is long and narrow and place it under the forks. Your table is set! (find a photo)
For just the right ambiance add candles. For an authentic Italian table, place a tapered candle in an empty wine bottle, and let the wax drip down the neck of the bottle. You’ll need to put the bottle on a plate so keep wax from dripping on the table. No wine bottle, no problem. You can purchase inexpensive candles and holders packaged together at Home Goods or Marshalls. Stay away from flowery scents for this meal, and look for sandalwood or patchouli oil. Light several candles, place some on the table, some on the counter top and if you have a fireplace place some candles inside it as well. (find a photo)

Add the chicken broth and tomatoes and season with salt and pepper. Simmer for 15 minutes, while cooking the pasta according to the box.
Add the cream into the sauce. When the sauce bubbles, remove it from the heat.
Combine the pasta, sauce and basil and serve immediately.
Make a list of the above ingredients, and had to your local grocery store. Along with the recipe ingredients, grab a pre-packaged Cesar Salad (Dole makes a good one) from the fresh fruit section of your grocery, pick up fresh grated parmesan cheese from the deli department and buy a loaf of Italian bead and a couple of cannolis or a some Terra Me Su from the bakery.
